Planning for automated vehicles in Edmonton, Alberta
Over the past few years, as urban planners and transportation planners in Canada—first in Vancouver and Toronto, and then Edmonton—have started seriously contemplating the implications of automated vehicles, I’ve had the opportunity to think through these issues with forward-thinking planners in these cities. Since last year, I’ve been helping planners in Edmonton in particular to explore the potential impacts of emerging vehicle automation technologies.
